What methods I use to train puppies
Training young puppies is something I have always enjoyed. I like to tailor sessions to each individual puppy, no puppy is usually trined the same. I do not like to correct puppies in the early stages in the obedience part, but rather build their confidence in offering me behaviours and feel free to make mistakes. While I train their obedience, I also train my patience.
What I evaluate and journal during each session is the mood of the puppy, what did we work on, what were the strengths of the session, where it could have gone better and plan for the next session.
Puppies who have an amazing handler focus and desire to work will be pushed further than the ones who are happy with life and enjoying little things in life. Not every puppy should be trained to higher levels and sometimes dog who have smaller base of commands make even better pet. But what I expect from all dogs is to be able to focus on when distractions presented, stay confident in different situations and follow simple commands when asked. And of course I expect my puppies to enjoy and be happy.
