Boat trip dog
Toscana and I had a nice 2 day boat trip. It was her 3rd time travelling on the water and her second long trip. The fist long trip we took on the sea was something else. There was wind and waves and neither of us really enjoyed it. This time was completely different. Sea was peaceful, except one small part, and we really had time to take in the beautiful views sea had to offer.
What to keep in mind when travelling with a dog on the sea more than a day.?
Book your trip long in advance. Some ships have only handful of pet cabins and they can get booked quite fast.
Make sure your dog is comfortable enough in new places and with loud sounds.
Dog toilet is on the outdoor deck, on hard floor and it can get messy fast. Some dogs refuse to relief on such locations, so be sure you take your dog on a toilet trip before entering the ship, you might also want to skip a meal before.
Not only humans get sea sick- with big waves your pet might feel unwell also. Cabin with a window is more expensive, but well worth the investment- it can help battling seasickness but you also get to enjoy the view.
